I wrote up this quick post to inform everyone about the new changes to the website and I hope all of you are excited about these changes. The first (and most major) change is that all news will now be posted here and everyone is now able to comment on posts (however, you have to be logged in as an approved user) to find out more information. The news only goes back to this February but if there are any articles and/or pictures that you want posted feel free to email me at ryan.radloff01@gmail.com with your request and I will try to take action ASAP. I also re-organized the websites tab system based off of popularity so now the calendar will have its own tab and multiple tabs will now be placed under “extras”.

With a number of new Scouts joining our troop and everybody’s work on rank advancement, here is a reminder of how to request a Board of Review (BOR).

Board of Review Process for Rank Advancement Troop 201  

1. Complete Scout Spirit and Scoutmaster Conference (and all rank requirements)
2. Check with computer table at a Troop meeting to make sure all is entered in the computer (troop official records) correctly
3. If computer table is empty, email knorrod@aol.com with a photograph of your Scout handbook rank requirements pages
4. Once Mrs. Norrod confirms you have all requirements, then Email teri.radloff@gmail.com to request to schedule a Board of Review
5. Come prepared to every following scout meeting for your BoR with your full uniform and sash until you have the BoR

Here is your last chance to take your BSA swim test ahead of the Canoeing/Fishing day outing and Summer Camp.

In accordance with BSA’s Safety Afloat program, any Scout looking to canoe on Saturday, May 13th without an adult in the canoe needs to complete the swim test required for 1st Class and the Swimming Merit badge.  Many Summer Camp activities requiring a swim test to be current, including (not limited to) swimming MB, canoeing, water rescue. etc..  It is much easier to take the annual swim test ahead of camp!!

I will be offering up a two-hour window at my house on Friday from 6-8p.  If the Scout shows up in that window, I will administer the 100-yard test.  The requirements of that test (which must be taken annually per BSA requirements) include: Jump into water over your head

• Swim 75 yards any stroke (formal stroke not doggie paddle)
• Sharp turn mid length
• 25 yards resting backstroke (elementary or back crawl)
• Brief float on back
